Description
This First Generation Colt Frontier Six Shooter is a true piece of American firearms history, manufactured in 1899 and chambered in the iconic .44-40 caliber. Marked on the barrel with the distinctive “Colt Frontier Six Shooter” rollmark, this Single Action Army revolver was designed to accommodate Winchester-compatible ammunition—making it a favored sidearm among cowboys, ranchers, and lawmen of the Old West.
This example features a 4.75-inch barrel, blue and casehardened finish, and original Colt hard rubber grips. While it shows honest wear consistent with age, including smooth areas of patina, cleaning, and light pitting, the revolver remains in good mechanical condition with legible markings and authentic period character.
