Scarce Third Generation Colt Buntline Special Single Action Army Revolver with Case
This is 1 of 193 manufactured in 1984 with a fixed front and frame notch rear sights. These nickel plated Colt Buntline revolvers are chambered for the 44-40 cartridge, have a 12" barrel, and occur in the SA68600 serial number range. Production ran from 1984 to 1985 with a total of 193 produced (see, for example, Don Wilkerson's "The Post-War Colt Single Action Revolver, 1976-1986", pages 100-101). This revolver has the one line Hartford barrel address with "COLT BUNTLINE SPECIAL 44-40" on the left side. The left side of the frame has the three line, three date patent marking. Fitted with a smooth grip with silver Colt medallions. With Colt shipping box numbered to the gun and a Colt wooden display case that fits 2 12 inch Buntlines.
