Description
Manufactured in 1917. This is a rare Colt 1911 chambered in .38 AMU. This is a special caliber made for the US Army Marksmanship Unit. The slide is marked on each side; "COLT/.38 AMU/AUTOMATIC" followed by the Rampant Colt and the obverse "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.". The top of the barrel is marked "COLT .38 AMU". Stippled front grip strap.
The gun looks great considering its age. It has some wear on the sharp edges. Probably from a holster. Has some minor surface scratches. The bore is bright and shiny. Comes with one Colt mag.
