This Colt WWI Commemorative Model 1911 pays tribute to the Battle of Belleau Wood, one of the most pivotal and hard-fought engagements of World War I. Manufactured in 1967 as part of Colt’s WWI commemorative series, this pistol captures the classic design of the original M1911 while celebrating the valor of the U.S. Marines and Army forces who fought in France.
Finished in deep blued steel with checkered walnut grips, this example remains in excellent condition, showing 99% of its original finish and only light handling marks. The grips are very fine, with minor dings consistent with storage. The pistol is mechanically excellent and comes with its original presentation case, which shows light edge wear. The matching commemorative serial number prefix (1183-) confirms its place within the limited series.
