In addition to precision laser engraving using a CO2 laser, the artwork is enhanced by gleaming 24K gold and rich copper (a melding of gold and copper). The result is a unique tri-color presentation, unlike anything you’ve seen on a firearm before. Furthermore, a hand-applied blackened patina is used to bring out additional details. The barrel bushings, magazine catch, trigger and safety are also plated in gleaming 24 karat gold. And we’ve retained one traditional element on this new .45 pistol: the checkered rosewood grips are the venerable World War I diamond pattern. The overall result is a masterpiece that combines 21st century technology and the time-honored tradition of the gunmaker’s art. The stainless steel slide has a tactical bead blasted frame to give it a handsome matte finish, which perfectly complements the artwork featured in stunning 24-karat gold on this Colt .45 pistol.
