Description
22 LR, 19 1/4'' barrel with a bright, excellent bore. The barrel on this Belgian-made sporting rifle retains about 99% plus original blue that has no signs of wear and a bright muzzle. The grayed receiver rates excellent and features the factory Grade II pattern engraving which depicts a prairie dog game scene on the left, bushy tail gray squirrels on the right and a flying mallard on top. The scenes are bordered by foliate patterns and the engravers signature ''LEGIERS'' is visible near the bottom of the panel on the left side. The trigger retains all of its original gold plating. The checkered deluxe grade walnut stocks rate excellent and have some light handling marks, the buttstock has some very nice figure. The original sights remain intact. Charles Legiers was a Browning engraver with most of his work being from the late 1950's and early 1960's. The date code puts the manufacture in 1969, well within the period of this artist's work for Browning. A lovely rifle in excellent condition that has the added bonus of the engraver's signature present on his work.
