It features Benelli’s Advanced Impact barrel and chokes which utilizes meticulously designed ballistic contours to enhance energy and velocity as well as improving penetration and shot density. The barrel is also treated with Benelli’s Cryo system which helps relieve the stress caused by the hammer forging process, creates a smoother, more uniform surface, and enables the barrel to stay cleaner for longer. To promote optimal ergonomics and handling, the ETHOS Performance Shop Sport features enlarged controls and a custom 6-ounce weighted forend cap for balance.

The heart of the ETHOS is Benelli's renowned Inertia Driven System. This extremely reliable action is composed of just 3 main parts – the bolt body, inertia spring, and rotating bolt head – and harnesses the inertia of recoil to cycle the next round. This simple, yet robust system eliminates the need to make adjustments, and is able to handle the lightest field loads to heavy magnum shells. The Inertia Driven System prevents residue from entering the action and ensures the gas, smoke, and burnt powder remain in the barrel. This makes the Inertia Driven System run significantly cleaner than gas systems.
