1968 Chinese Arsenal 416 SKS – Very Nice Condition!

Chinese SKS in very nice condition. This is an "Arsenal /416" produced rifle from about 1968 – the Chinese weren't exactly trying to make their production numbers clear to their potential enemies, so precise dating can be tough! Whatever the case, these Arsenal 416 rifles are generally thought of as being a cut above the much more common "Arsenal 26" rifles with a generally higher standard of workmanship. This SKS shows a nice set of early features, including a milled trigger guard and top cover and "short threaded" barrel but does not have the lightening cuts in the bolt. Condition is overall very nice. Metal surfaces are very clean except for some cosmoline under handguard and retain their original finish. Bore is good. Wood is an attractive shade not like most other Chinese guns and is very nice but does show some service dings. These Chinese guns, especially in rare variations like this one, are becoming collector's items; if you've been wanting one of these, the time to buy is now!
